Sherry Hassell, Auditor
Sherry Hassell learned how to fly in Ketchikan and has flown over 10,000 hours in Alaska. She began her commercial flying career in 1985 as a flight instructor for Mike Salazar’s Ketchikan Air Service and went on to fly for several Alaska air taxis, both full-time and part-time, through 2009. Sherry has worked as a line pilot, company instructor pilot, company check airman, and director of operations.
Ms. Hassell worked for the State of Alaska, including 5 ½ years as a legislative auditor, and is a current certified public accountant. She retired from the State of Alaska Department of Public Safety as the aircraft section supervisor in March, 2013. She currently teaches part-time as adjunct faculty for the University of Alaska-Southeast in the distance education program.
Sherry holds the ATP, Commercial-SMEL/SES, instrument and CFI certificates. She has a BBA in accounting and an MBA in management from the University of Alaska-Southeast. In her spare time she enjoys fishing, hiking, and flying, as well as playing with her two dogs.
